Larry Neal Shaw

of Benton, AR

May 25, 1939 - July 2, 2011

Larry Neal Shaw, 72, of Benton, passed into eternal life with his Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was born May 25, 1939 in Sweet Home, Arkansas, to Ralph and Dorothy Shaw. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Liz) Shaw on May 25, 1957 and enjoyed 54 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with two children, Teri L. Gates and Larry (Kip) Shaw, Jr., who further blessed them with four grandchildren Nicole Gates, Ryan Shaw, Jason Gates and Nick Shaw, and one great-grandchild, Ryland Shaw. Also surviving him is his sister Patsy Cliff, and niece Tisha Deason, and his spiritual daughter, Sharon Gayle Newman and her husband, Larry, and three spiritual grandchildren, Shawna Singleton, Heather Smith and John M. Newman, and many other special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Larry was a retired Master Electrician and Maintenance Director for Flake & Kelly Properties. He loved to study his bible and share it with others and made an impact on many lives. He had a special love for people and never met a stranger. He was loved and respected by everyone and we miss him already. Heaven's gain is our loss.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 4, 2011, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, (501)455-5800.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Family Church in Bryant, with Pastor Perry Black officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Pepaw Shaw, as we called him, was one of the greatest men I have ever known. It is such a blessing to have been able to know and love him. I am not his biological grandchild, but both him and Memaw Shaw have always treated me as their granddaughter. I love you Pepaw Shaw and I can't wait until the day that I see you again!

Larry is already terribly missed by all. My heart actually aches just to hear him and see his face light up when he sees you. When I first met the Shaw family Larry & Liz not talked the talk but they have walked it. Larry was always encouraging everyone to know what they believed and why they believed it - in other words study the Word. For the first time in my life I was able to see a man who not only spoke the word but actually walked in it - he had the love of God in his heart and would share it with everyone. If you had a problem he always took you to the Word and shared it from his heart. He was a true soldier of Christ and he has won the battle. I look forward to the day when I can see his handsome face again. I love you Larry Shaw.

Oh, what a wonderful man heaven has received!!! God blessed this world with Larry for many years so that he could bless so many of us with his pure soul, smile, and his laugh I can remember so well. And oh how he loved to share the word of the bible! The love he had for people was amazing as he was. He was one of the best men God has ever placed in our lives. We will never forget him and all that he's done for us and the impact he made!!! We can't forget the woman that helped make him and all that she done for my life! I will forever be grateful for the both of you!!! Liz and family, if you need anything, please know we are here. God has one of his biggest fans with him. Heaven won't be the same! I mean that in the best way possible. Luv and many blessings to you and your family. Robert n Liz
