Lester Leon Whiteside, 81, of Batesville, died on Saturday, December 23, 2017.
He was born on Wednesday, September 2, 1936 in Newport, Arkansas to Carl and Beaulah Johnson Whiteside.
Lester was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a Jack-of-all-trades.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha Whiteside of Batesville; son, Keith Leon Whiteside (Regina) of Batesville; three daughters, LaKay Moore (Jon) of Senatobia, Mississippi; Phyllis O. McFadden of Batesville, and Cathy Edwards (Jeff) of Batesville; twelve grandchildren, Dayne Whiteside, Kaitlin Kiihnl (Caleb), Ryan Thornton (Kim), Aaron Thornton (Ginger), Kendra Turner (Steve), Ryan Moore, Ashley Erwin (James), Lynleigh McFadden, Kaylie McFadden, Riley McFadden, Abby Edwards, and Lexi Edwards; four great-grandchildren, Brooks Thornton, Kennedy Thornton, Sydney Turner and Delaney Erwin; brother James Whiteside of Batesville; and sister Judy Greene of Newport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Beaulah Whiteside; sister, Sissie Long, and two son-in-laws, Ken Thornton and Tom McFadden.
Pallbearers will be Darrel Orvis, Dale Orvis, Preston Orvis, Wesley Stivers Jr., Stevie Sharp, and Jeff Stivers.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the North Heights Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Kyler Cemetery in Southside under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
There will be no visitation.
