Thomas Richard HortonI am a Veteran.

of Conway, AR

March 13, 1957 - February 22, 2017

Thomas Richard Horton also known as "Tom" or "Ricky"- 59 of Conway, Arkansas departed this life on
2/22/2017 at 10:16 to start a new journey. Tom was born in Kokomo, IN on Wednesday 3/13/1957 to Ruby
Lee Johnson (Horton) and Thomas Justin Peterson. He was adopted by his father Noah Lee Horton and
later moved to Conway, Arkansas. He graduated class of 1975 from Conway High School. He joined the
United States Air Force and served as an Airman First Class stationed at McConnell Air force Base in
Wichita, KS until 1980. He married Robin Renee Barnes in 1978 until 1989. He became a father in 1980,
again in 1983, and lastly in 1987. Tom was employed at Rock-Tenn as a Crew Leader in Conway, AR from
1984 until his retirement in 2016. He became a first time grandfather in 2000. Tom was a member, even
though his health had kept him from attending in recent years, of Old Liberty Southern Baptist Church in
Conway AR.
Tom not only gave life but he nurtured and nourished it. He has many roles, but his most important was his
children. He devoted most of his life to selflessly raising his three girls and oldest grandson. He had an
innocent and broad smile, if you were lucky enough to catch it, and a contagious laugh. Anybody that knew
him knew how stubborn he could be. He loved kicking back and watching history channel, cheering on his
daughters and grandchildren at sports, mowing his yard on his riding lawn mower, growing his annual
garden, and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was a second father to most, he was always
welcoming and genuinely accepting of anybody he met. He was a godly man with a sensitive soul. He
offered his advice whether you wanted it or not, but he always concluded with a "you do what you want". He
had an enormous heart and would never turn away anyone in need, up until the day he went to be with the
Lord.
Tom is survived by his three daughters, Dawn L'ecole Proctor and husband Jon Proctor of Cabot, AR., Jenny
Lynn Kopp and husband Eric Kopp of Greenbrier, AR., and Rachel Michelle Horton and fiance David Siau of
Greenbrier, AR.; six grand children, Brace R. Wetzel, Carson C. Richardson, Allauna T. Stubbs, Delton
L.Stubbs Jr., Caiden G. Gibson, and Thomas "Grayson" Horton; Brother Steven Lee Horton of Conway, AR,
Sister Susan Renae Guy of Jacksonville, FL; half-sister Michelle Lakey, Nancy Akin, Teresa Peterson, and
Diana McGregor of Kokomo, IN; Former wife Robin R. Horton of Wichita, Kansas; family friend Jasen
Wetzel of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Ruby Lee Horton (Johnson) and Noah Lee Horton, Thomas Justin
Peterson; brother Gary Wayne Horton; and an unborn grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday 2/26/17 from 1pm - 6pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home located at 801 8th
Ave, Conway, AR 72032. There will be no service following due to his last wishes to be cremated.

If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And
now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe''- John 14:27-29
''God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There
shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away''-Revelation 21:4

Thinking about you and praying for Tom's family. We know he is with the Angels in Heaven and is so much better than when he was last here on Earth. You will forever hold him in your hearts and forever cherish the memories you have with him. Doesn't keep us from missing our loved ones but does console us to know they're with our Lord.
