Monte Vernard Marker, age 74, of Marshall, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in Harrison. He was born November 9, 1943, in Anaconda, Montana, the son of Wilbur and Goldie (Marker) Sanders. Along with his parents, Monte was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mina and Gene Marker.

Monte was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. He grew up in Philipsburg, Montana and graduated from Granite County High School. In 2000, Monte and his family moved to Flippin, Arkansas where he was a janitor for the Flippin High School. In 2010, Monte and his wife Bonnie moved to Crookston, Minnesota to be of assistance in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. They had a winter apartment in Marshall, Arkansas. Monte loved to share his hope of a paradise earth with God's Kingdom ruling with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Monte is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Lewis) Marker, of Marshall; his sons, Joe Kinney, Jeff Kinney, James Kinney, Kris Marker, Jackson Marker and Christian Marker; his daughters, Care Speranza, Melissa Pieper, and Julie Marker; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brother, Gene Marker; and a host of other family and friends.



Memorial service was Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Marshall, Arkansas, with Bro. John Oyler officiating.

Our thoughts are with Monte's family in this difficult time. Monte was a thoughtful, genuine person with a big heart. I really enjoyed working with Monte and learned a lot from him. He will be missed.
