Raymond Glenn "Sonny" Thrasher, 80, became a director of the heavenly choir on January 7, 2018. Sonny was born June 20, 1937, to the late Jack and Ruth Thrasher. He was a graduate of Vilonia High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired funeral director with Roller-McNutt and also worked in construction. Sonny was influential in many kids' lives as he coached youth sports, his favorite being baseball. He never met a stranger and was known by all as being charismatic and loud. Sonny was preceded in death by his brother, Granville David White, and sister, Marian Purtle. Leaving behind to cherish many great memories is his wife of 56 years, Christene Pike Thrasher, daughter, Annette Foust of Amarillo, TX, and her children, Derek, Heather, and Skyler; sons Michael Thrasher (Jeanette) of Batesville, Wade Thrasher of Little Rock, and Steve (Lenett) of Greenbrier; and daughter, Tina Hutchison (Mack) of Conway. Grandchildren include Cole Parker, Hayden and Hunter (Melanie) Thrasher, and Fischer, Jessica, and Thomas Hutchison.
Pallbearers are Cole Parker, Hayden Thrasher, Hunter Thrasher, Fischer Hutchison, Thomas Hutchison, Parker Hutchison, and Cody Burke. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ricky Brooks, Jerry Carroll, Dr. Mike Fleeman, Max Henry, Jerry Huie, and Clay Willcut.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW
My most sincere condolences to the family of Raymond "Sonny" Thrasher. May God's Love and Peace be with all of you as you endure this most difficult time.
To all of Sonny’s sweet families, Jerry and I are so sorry that he couldn’t stay here longer, but God has a much better and bigger plan for Mr. Sonny. Know he will be missed, but his legacy, his wit, smile, memories and fun times that you all had will be with you forever. What a Blessed Assurance that you have that he lived his life for His Lord, and he is waiting for all of you to join him. What a Happy Day that will be. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We love you.
I don't remember when I met Sonny but I knew he was a person who had a kind word for everyone. I cherished his friendship! Our prayers and thought are with the family. May God bless the family during this time!
Sonny and I were hired at Mcnutt at the same time. We quickly became buddies. He was one of a kind. I always enjoyed being around him. I left in 1990 to work in Little Rock but would see him from time to time and he was always the same. The last time I saw him was at the catfish house and he stopped and took the time to talk to me and my wife. Heaven has gained a great man. Sonny was genuine through and through. He leaves a great legacy. May God Bless all the family during this time. Our prayers, are with you.
Prayers will be with your family as you go through the difficult days ahead. Sonny was a great friend and he will be missed by so many whose lives he touched.
So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember him fondly as our song leader at First Freewill Baptist Church some years back. My thoughts and prayers are with Christine ,Tina and Steve as well as the rest of the family during this time.
