Clyde Sylvester Coleman, 88, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Mountain Home. Clyde was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on February 21, 1929 to Merlin and Daisy Paralee (Elliot) Coleman.
Clyde earned his master's degree in accounting and used that degree to work many years for the Pentagon and the Corp of Engineers in Mountain Home. He was very big in politics and was a history buff. Clyde and his wife Alta loved to travel so much that they visited every state in the United States at least once except for Hawaii.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Alta Coleman, stepson Edward Chesney Sr. (Catherine), step-daughter in law Kathy Lynn Chesney, six grand children: Edward Chesney Jr., Christine Brown (Richard), Robert Cole Chesney (Edee), Jamie Siegel (Troy), Nathan Chesney, and Sarah Shedenhelm. Clyde is also survived by two sisters Cuanita Bergman (Eric), Lona Vinson, step brother Brent Donkensgoed, and numerous great- grandchildren. Clyde is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Carol Coleman, two sisters, Margaret Donkensgoed, Drama Ennis and a step son Kenneth Eugene Chesney.
A visitation will be held from 1- 2 P.M. on Sunday, December 31 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 P.M. in the chapel with Reverend Earl Cruse officiating. Interment will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens.
