December 13, 2017

They loved together in life on earth. Now they are loving together eternally, for God has welcomed them home.
Richard Adam Para was born March 5, 1934 in Paw Paw Michigan. He passed away December 13, 2017, peacefully at Baxter Regional Hospital
Patricia Mae Para was born January 28, 1935 in Chicago Illinois. She passed away December 18, 2017, with gratitude for the hospice care she received over her last days.
They married on September 24, 1955 and resided in Chicago Illinois, Itasca Illinois, Lombard, Illinois and Mountain Home, Arkansas. They were married for 63 years.
Richard was employed as a lineman and foreman at Commonwealth Edison Company for over 35 years. Patricia was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell for over 25 years.
Those who survive them are their children: Donna and Brian Friel of Oswego, Illinois and Paul and Karen Para of Hollister, California, five grandchildren Adam Para (Melissa), Matthew Para (Cassia), Brandon Para (Amanda) and Kristen Jurevich (Billy), Sondra Friel Lee (Power) and five great grandchildren, all of whom they loved dearly. They are also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. They leave behind a strong legacy that can be seen in their children and grandchildren.
Richard and Patricia were grounded on faith, family, hard work, love of nature and service to the community. On any given day you could find them driving veterans, doing road clean up, supporting Hospice, Serenity, the Food Basket and their church, St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
They cherished life, and that was felt by everyone they met. They had engaging smiles, kind hearts, and a sense of humor that was there till their final breaths. They created a loving home environment that leaves behind great memories and stories. Summers at the Lake CECO club have left lasting memories for many; camping, boating, BBQ's, water skiing and plain ole fun was plentiful. They loved to dance, and could tear up a dance floor wherever they went. We know they are still dancing now.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on January 4, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold, Celebrant. Inurnment will follow the Mass in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home. Visit our online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhome.com/mtnhome.

We shall miss Rich and Pat as neighbors, friends and members of St. Peters. They were always on the go, helping others, improving the looks of the neighborhood and Rich put out the best nativity every Christmas. . .know you are all in our prayers.

Dear Family of Pat & Rich, we have loved your parents very much. They graciously included Don & I as family members with their warm & gracious hospitality. We have been inspired by their devotion to on another and by their generous giving back to their community through many deeds of kindness and service. We miss your parents very much and feel blessed to have known them. May they rest joyfully in peace. May Christ and His Blessed Mother hold all of you tenderly in their arms.
