Theresa, Jagger, Jordan, Aunt Morene, We send our most heartfelt love, thoughts and prayers to you at this most difficult time. We loved Roger so much and enjoyed the time we spent with you and him on our last visit to Arkansas. May God give you peace and comfort. He had a wonderful sense of humor on Facebook, and I loved his posts and the pictures he posted of the farm. God bless you all!

I remember the first time I ever saw Mr. Treat. I was in 5th grade and he came in and talked about the new band program. I was inspired. That was the kind of man he was. He inspired those around him to love music.. I spent the next 7 years learning from him and eventually became a teacher myself (not in music, though) . My biggest regret is not keeping in touch with him. The world is a better place for having had him in it and he will be missed.
To his family,I pray that you receive comfort that only God can give and that you will remember the best of times.

Mr. Treat was my Band teacher by title, but for me and many of us he was much more. For me, he was a confidant, mentor, big brother and most certainly a true friend.
But If you saw him (back in 1974) standing in front of that first band and heard him shouting, you might have thought that his methods were a bit extreme, but he saw the diamonds in the rough, they were all around him and he knew what we could become and in just a few short years, he created one of the best band programs in the state of Arkansas.
Through his mentoring and influence, he was directly responsible for many of us going on to college or other professional careers and more importantly becoming productive, caring, human beings.
In 2015, I moved back to Arkansas and reconnected with Roger on Facebook, his humor and wit was just as I remembered.
You will be missed, but heaven finally gets some real LOW BRASS.

My love goes out to Morene and nephews and especially Roger's wife and family. I knew Roger and Karen because we use to pick cotton for them and lived in an old house by Noah and Retha Wallis only during the time we stayed to pick cotton. Enjoyable times is what we remember. They even took us to Memphis Zoo. Karen was my age. I talked to Morene a yr or two ago. Enjoyed our talk.
