Berl H. Rowan 84 of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born on June 18, 1933 in Okfuskee, Oklahoma to his parents Rufus Roy and Lillie May (Adams) Rowan. He worked as a general laborer doing concrete work in San Jose, California. He attended First Assembly of God in Paris, and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. In his spare time Berl enjoyed spending time with his family or talking to people he would meet around town. He enjoyed hunting big game in California and anything that pertained to cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Roy, Sr. and Lillie May (Adams) Rowan and two brothers, Landon and Rufus Roy Rowan, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jean E. (Crowell) Rowan; one son, Quinton Rowan and wife, Angela of Greenwood, Arkansas; three daughters, Connie Patterson and husband, Robby of Paris, Dede Pettigrew and husband, Mikel also of Paris, Starla Sharp and husband, Fred of Subiaco; one brother, Randy Rowan of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; six sisters, Lois Guatney of Okemah, Oklahoma, Pauline Cooper of Arizona, June Rowan and Kitty Taylor of Las Angeles, California, Ava Garner and Callie Smith both of Okemah, Oklahoma; nine grand children, Tassie Rieder, Aaron Hurst, Sabra Odom, Randy Sharp, Starlene Sharp, Bryan Patterson, Leah Patterson, Faith Rowan and Isaac Rowan; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church in Paris officiated by Rev. Kenny Maness with burial in Baxley Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home. Online guestbook at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/paris

So sorry for your loss! I know he will be in Heaven waiting on ya'll! Such a good, sweet man! All of ya'll were so blessed to have him! There was not ONE time I ever drove by his house when he was outside or if passed him on the road driving and he didn't wave. He ALWAYS waved!! I will miss seeing him!
I remember when I was a little girl my Daddy told me to go ask him when his baby was due (cuz his belly pooched out) He didn't say a word but he laughed and laughed!

Berl Rowan was a very kind n friendly man with a great big heart he loved his family n his Lord. He would always wave n say hello to me when at the grocery store. My prayers are with you lids n extended family. May God give you all peace n comfort knowing he is with his Lord n Savior.
