Roosevelt B. RobbersonI am a Veteran.

of Siloam Springs, AR

January 14, 2018

Roosevelt B. Robberson of Decatur, Arkansas, formerly of Paris, Arkansas, went to his eternal home Sunday, January 14, 2018, after a lengthy stay in a Siloam Springs nursing and rehabilitation center. He was 81 years old.
Roosevelt was born January 20, 1936, the youngest of triplet boys born to F.F. and Lorena (Tidwell) Robberson. The multiple birth was unexpected, therefore names for the boys had not been planned so the delivery doctor named them after the U.S. president at that time, Franklin, Delano, Roosevelt. He was one of ten boys born in this family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, F.F. and Lorena (Tidwell) Robberson and seven brothers, Carl, Roy, Fred, Charles, Franklin, Delano and Truman.

Roosevelt graduated from Paris High School in 1954 where he was active in FFA both local and state, and from the University of Arkansas School of Agriculture in 1958. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard until 1960.
In June 1960 he purchased the Robberson Family Farm in Greasy Valley, southeast of Paris, Arkansas and converted it into a registered Holstein dairy operation. He was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Harmony Assembly of God. He also served as Logan County Treasurer. In 1997 he sold his farm operation and started to work for Simon Industries in Siloam Springs, and he moved his family to Decatur, Arkansas.

Mr. Robberson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Jean (Duvall) Robberson, two children, Lisa Cheatwood and husband, James of Decatur, Arkansas and Steve Martin and wife, Sandy of DeBary, Florida; three grandchildren, Jacob of Decatur, Arkansas and Austin and Brittany, both of Florida; one great grandchild, two brothers, Clarence Robberson of London, Arkansas and Raymond Robberson of Rockwall, Texas and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, Arkansas followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery near Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.

Pallbearers will be Alan Robberson, Ben Robberson, David Robberson, Phillip Robberson, Stephen Robberson and Thomas Robberson.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a nursing student at John Brown University and I would visit Roosevelt every week last year and it was really sweet getting to know him. He was a blessing to know!

Roosevelt and I worked together at Simmon's when he was Pet Food Quality Control Supervisor. He was very good at his job and a man with high integrity. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

Clara Jean and Lisa, I am so sorry about the loss of your husband and father. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I haven't seen either of you in years since we worked together at the nursing home. Clara Jean, thanks for all of the Christmas cards that you sent to my mother (Anita Mars) all of those years. She looked forward to them.
