Doris Mae Atha, 91, passed away on March 25, 2018. She was born to the late Roy Eckert and Ruth Mellinger on June 26, 1926 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
At the age of 24, Doris joined the US Air Force and was stationed at the Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. After serving, she was honorably discharged as a Corporal. She raised three beautiful children, whom she loved dearly and later retired from the Postal Service. Doris enjoyed traveling in her later years and was a collector of coins, stamps and bears. She is survived by her three children Alma Atha Harris, Eugene Atha, Andrew ''Andy'' Atha; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Doris will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Little Rock VA Hospital for their compassion while caring for our mother especially Dr. Joel Martinez and Nurse MaReesa Hancock.
