James Edward Nichols passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Marion, Arkansas at the age of 89. James was born October 12, 1928 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to parents Oscar and Lula Bell Nichols. He later met and was able to spend the next 72 years with the love of his life Annie Myrtle Nichols before God called him home. James was a Navy Veteran of WW2. He was a long time member of the Restoration Life Church in Marion, Arkansas. He loved to golf, play cards and spend quality time with his grandchildren.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Myrtle, Five Sons; Gary Nichols (Yong AE) of Marion, Mike Nichols (Marilyn ) of Canton, Georgia, Stanley Nichols (Sharon) of West Memphis, Arkansas, Mark Kent Nichols (Diane) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Steve Nichols (Vicki) of Marion, Arkansas. He will be deeply missed by One Daughter, Susan Madison (Dan) of Marion, Arkansas. James leaves behind 19 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren who will always know they had a grandfather who loved and cherished them. Three Sisters; Isabell Guthrie, Jo Ann Morton and Ginger Bisbing. Four Brothers; Daniel Nichols, William Nichols, Jimmy Nichols and Bradley Nichols. James was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roscoe, Fred, Franklin, Lennon, Omer, Ray, Rodney and Kenneth along with sisters Illa Mae Scrivner, Addie Clark, Ada Simmons, Izona Nichols, Lula Bell Tomlinson and Virginia Nichols.

The family requests a donation be made to the Restoration Life Church at 166 Pine Street in Marion, Arkansas 72364.

Walter and I were blessed to be James's and Myrtle's neighbors for many years. I have great memories of our visits. I'm sure Walter is full of joy to see James again! Sending prayers for the comfort that only our Savior can give. I love each of this great family!
