Edward L. "Eddie" Ferguson, 77, of Marion, AR, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday April 7, 2018.
He was the son of the late Guen and Lucille Ferguson, and brother to the late Judy Taylor, Mary Guen Ray and Marion Jean Ferguson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Earlene Ferguson; his three sons and son in-law, Jeff Ferguson of San Francisco, CA, Philip Ferguson of Nashville, AR and John-David Ferguson of Marion, AR, and Kevin Burke of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Jeanette Burns of Wynne, AR and Barbara McClanahan of Russellville, AR; two brothers, James Ferguson of West Memphis, AR and Ted Ferguson of Fort Smith, AR; three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great friends.
Eddie was born January 20, 1941 in West Memphis, AR. He graduated from Marion High School in 1959. Eddie met his wife Earlene Allensworth while working on a jobsite in Joiner AR. They married in 1962 and moved to Marion, AR to raise their family. He was a Senior Inspector for the Arkansas Highway Department, retiring after 42 years of service in 2002.
Eddie loved the outdoors. He was a gardener, craftsman, mechanic and carpenter. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need of his many skills, often coming to the rescue of his children, neighbors, family and friends.
