Howard ''Fat'' Grinder, age 91 of St. Joe, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, March 2nd, 2018 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in the Burr Oak Community of Searcy County, Arkansas on February 11th, 1927 to Harvey Grinder and Myrtle DePriest Grinder.
Howard was a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. He was a hardworking man who was always busy working at something. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a wonderful outdoorsman and enjoyed searching for and collecting shed deer antlers. Howard was an excellent gardener and spent many long hours cultivating his tomatoes. He liked to watch boxing and westerns. In later years, Howard loved getting together with his family and enjoying a meal. His strong spirit and hard work ethic will live on in those who knew him best.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Ramsey Grinder of St. Joe; one son, Frank Grinder of Harrison; grandchildren, Penny (James) Sheehy of Pyatt, Stan (Snow) Sasser of WA, Michelle (Kevin) Manes of St. Joe, Michael (Sherry) Grinder of Everton, Josie (Jim) Harness of Marshall, Shawna Biddle of Berryville, Chris (Deana) Grinder of Fox, Crystal (Kevin) Case of Harrison, Cory (Amanda) Grinder of Fox and Jason (Kristi) Grinder of Lead Hill; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold (June) Grinder of Pindall and J.D. Grinder of St. Joe.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Myrtle Grinder; his children, Vicki Beard, Mike Grinder and Ann Alread; his siblings, Earn Grinder, Marie Still, Jack Grinder, E.G. Grinder and Bob Grinder; and one daughter-in-law, Donna Grinder.
Funeral services for Howard will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Doug Grinder and Bro. Rob Grinder officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Monday, March 5th, 2018 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Silver Hill Cemetery near St. Joe. Pallbearers will be Chris Grinder, Justin Grinder, Austin Grinder, Jason Grinder, Michael Grinder and Cory Grinder. Honorary pallbearers will be R.G. Hudspeth and three of Howard's healthcare workers, Lisa Jones, Jessica Cassell and Nina Baysinger.

Joe and I are thinking about all the family and friends. So thankful to have been neighbors with Fat for 29 plus years. He was a great neighbor and always a pleasant person.
What a Dear Precious Man !! What a Eulogy I could give. I'm gonna miss Gunsmoke, Big Joe and Little Boss !! We watched these shows and any good westerns we could find. 2 weeks ago I never dreamed our time was almost over. He left a big whole in my heart. I can now think of him with Mike, Vicki , Ann and so many others. What a reunion he is having !! Love,And Prayers, Lisa
