February 22, 1930 - November 16, 2017

Nadine Anderson Gilley, age 87 of Round Mountain, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, November 16th, 2017 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. Nadine was born in Landis, Arkansas on February 22nd, 1930 to William and Hattie (Lawrence) Anderson. Nadine married J. C. Gilley on August 14th, 1951.

Mrs. Gilley spent most of her life in the Big Flat area. She enjoyed gardening, singing, sewing, quilting, cooking, and was almost impossible to beat at checkers. Nadine loved her church family and serving. She deeply loved her family and spending time with them was her favorite past time. She was very appreciative of the kindnesses shown by her friendly neighbors. Those who knew her well knew that she was one to rise to the occasion when life threw her new challenges. Mrs. Gilley was a self-described ''home body'' and was determined to live in her beloved home until she moved into her eternal one.

Survivors include her children, Darrell (Linda) Gilley of Batesville, AR, John (Karen) Gilley of Branson West, MO, Janice (Clifford) Downs of Centerton, AR, Candace (Edward) Martin of Harrison, AR, Jessie (John) Bruner of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren, James (Debbie) Downs, Tessa(Beau) Middleton, Michael (Amy) Gilley, David (Stephanie) Gilley, Hattie Martin, Hannah (Cole) Campbell, Neil (Ariel) Bruner; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Gilley; parents; two brothers, Ralph Anderson and Jimmy Anderson, two sisters, Geneva Anderson and Mildred Treat.

Arrangements are by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas. So sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the words spoken at Revelation 21:3,4
(3) "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. (4)
And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away".

I'm so sorry to hear of Nadine’s passing. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I lost my dad in 2010, and my mom in 2012. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I hope reading these verses also give you comfort during this difficult time. GW

Dear family, our hearts and prayers are with you. Aunt Nadine was special in my life. And I knew that she loved me. I had a special place in her heart. I feel a great loss and I am sorry but due to my physical condition I will not be able to attend the funeral.

She was a fighter until the end.
I owe so much to my heritage. Please pray for me that I can finish my course.

May God bless you all.

To my sweet Gilley students from years past,

So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I know she is smiling down on her children and the wonderful adults they have become. She reared some fine young men and women.

Your BFHS English teacher sends you this expression of sympathy and words of comfort.
