I served in the Army.
James Roy GrayI am a Veteran.

of Marshall, AR

July 26, 1936 - February 12, 2017

James Roy Gray, age 80 of Baker, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12th, 2017 at NARMC in Harrison, Arkansas after a severe illness. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas on July 26th, 1936 to Bill Gray and Jewel Chambers Gray.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country with pride and honor during which time he saw a lot of different places in this country and many other countries as well. When asked about all the places he had seen, his reply was ''none of them was as pretty as home in Arkansas''. Jim served as an engineer in the Army and this carried on into his civilian life making him a very knowledgeable handyman, even in today's electronic world. Jim enjoyed gardening and working on his home place. He married Janice Crumley Horton in 1992. She was also his high school sweetheart. They enjoyed being on the go, making numerous trips to Springfield checking on family, until Janice had a stroke which left her partially paralyzed. Jim then devoted his whole life to Janice's care, (and he was very good at it). Besides her personal care he undertook the cooking, cleaning and housework. His dedication to family and country will be remembered and missed by those closest to him.

Survivors include his wife Janice Gray of the home; one sister, Mary Evelyn Wallis of Marshall; two brothers, Wayne Gray and wife Sue of Leslie and Richard Gray and wife Betty of Hahira, GA; two step-daughters, Dianna Woods and husband Doyle of Rogersville, MO and Markita Crumley of Springfield, MO; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, James David Gray.

Funeral services for Jim will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 16th, 2017 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Eddie Ragsdale officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
