Vesta Rosenkotter was called to be with her Lord on April 8, 2018 in Mountain Home. She was born September 10, 1927 in Phillips, Nebraska to Henry and Dora (Schuller) Falldorf, the youngest of their six children.
She was married to Art Rosenkotter on January 2, 1949 at Grand Island, Nebraska for 60 years until he passed away in 2009. They were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church and parents of three children. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1962 where Art took Lay Training for Lay Pastors at Concordia College. Vesta was employed by Altenheim as a Nurse's Aide.
In 1964 upon certification, Art was assigned to Berea Community Center by the MO Synod Lutheran Church, South Illinois District. They both worked at conducting classes for all ages of children, including sewing classes for girls and women as well as bible classes for adults.
In 1967, they moved to Callaway, Nebraska where Art had been called as Lay Pastor of Lutheran Churches in Callaway and Arnold, Nebraska. Vesta became employed at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Callaway. In 1969, they received a call to become Co-Administrators of a new Good Samaritan Center in Scribner, Nebraska. While there, Vesta was asked to go get her LPN license by attending Platte College in Columbus so she could then become Director of Nursing which she was for 7 years.
They moved to Mountain Home in 1980 when Art accepted a call to be Administrator of the Good Samaritan Village and Vesta became actively employed in several capacities. They retired after 25 years with Good Samaritan.
She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she had been associated with the beginning of their Foot Care Ministry, Stephen Ministry as leader for 9 years, bible class leader for many years, Fun Club, Ladies Guild and other committees, as well as Diabetic Foot Care for the Christian Clinic for 14 years.
Her hobbies included doing extensive genealogy of both Falldorf and Rosenkotter families and spent much time researching heritage, making family picture albums and flower gardening.
She is survived by her three children: Marjorie Rosenkotter of Mountain Home, Anita (David) Kreienkamp of St. Louis, Kevin (Sandy) Rosenkotter of Mountain Home; three grandchildren: Nathan Rosenkotter, Jennifer Malke, Rebekah (Chris) Oleksiw; one sister Doris Anderson of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota; two nephews; six nieces: which includes Nancy Halbmaier, Burneate (Robert) Henderson, Beverly (Ronald) Young all of Mountain Home. We're so sorry to learn we've lost Vaska. She was such a dear lady and we enjoyed visits with her those many years our Maudie Baltz was a patient at Good Samaritan. And it was such fun to see her not too long ago at a gathering here in Mountain Home. Her family and friends will long treasure the memories of the time we spent with her. May God bless all her family.
