Cathryn M. Rutherford, 88, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her home. She was born May 22, 1929 in Trumann to Jim and Lessie Haws Christy. Mrs. Rutherford worked as a factory worker and as a caregiver. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking, shopping, purses and shoes that she passed down to her girls and grandchildren; and most of all, taking care of her family.


Mrs. Rutherford is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Rutherford; sisters, Anna Lee Rutherford and Mornay Busby.

Survivors include her son, Johnny Dale (Barbara) Rutherford; three daughters, Diane (Randy) Lard, Nancy Beaty, and Vicki (Chad) Waddill; grandchildren, Sondra Teague, Teresa Puckett, Leanne Keedy, Chasity Hancock, Selena Murray, Casey Howse, and Dylan Rutherford; great grandchildren, Madison Teague, Colin Teague, Garret Keedy, Baylor Hancock, Cole Keedy, Bailey Howse and Sylar Murray.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Bro Jim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service.

Lee Teague, Chad Puckett, David Keedy, Brandon Hancock, Chase Murray and Michael Howse will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Rutherford's grandkids and great grandkids will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests lasting memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis.
