Mary Louise Huff, 87, of Searcy passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 19, 2017, surrounded by loving friends and caretakers. She was born in her great-grandmother's house in Springstop, Newcastle, PA, on August 9, 1929 to the late Thomas and Martha Geraldine (Holtz) Dilley. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Dilley, Jr. and her husband of 52 years, John Francis Charles Huff.
She is survived by five children: Kathleen Ortiz, Laura March, Romona Naquin, John Huff, and Mary McCarter; twelve grandchildren (Katrina, Faith, Chrystal, Steven, Terri, Jennifer, Jess, Oliver, Franc, Kayla, Sam, and Henry); and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou was known as the ''Flower Lady'' because of all the flowers she planted in the community. She was known for her generosity and volunteer work at the White County Aging Program (John E. Lightle Center). She held a variety of interesting jobs throughout her life (Woolworth's, dance teacher, glass factory, record jacket factory, Pillsbury, waitress) but her passion was dance, and she was proudest of being a USO volunteer and dancer. She was also a Boy Scout Den Mother and taught exercise classes at the Lightle Center. Her goal was to make everyone smile.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the White County Aging Program in Searcy, Ark.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed.
Interment will be private.
