February 21, 1926 - April 13, 2008

Robert O. Liechti Sr., 82, of Lakeview passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Mountain Home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Twin Lakes Cremation Society Chapel with the Rev. Bill Langston officiating.

He was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Sabetha, Kan. He was a U.S. Navy submarine veteran and served his country in that capacity for 22 years. He married Maxine W. Tibbetts Nov. 8, l978. After his military service, Robert worked for many years doing all the maintenance for the Omaha Home for Boys in Omaha, Neb. After camping trips to Arkansas, he and Maxine moved to Lakeview in l99l to enjoy the Ozarks. Robert enjoyed fishing and working in his yard and his flower garden.

Mr. Liechti is survived by his wife of 29 years, Maxine W. Liechti of their home in Lakeview; three sons, Robert O. (Cindy) Liechti Jr. of Las Cruces, N.M.; Daniel Wade (Sally) Liechti of Shelton, Wash., and Paul Edward (Ginger) Liechti of Aberdeen, Wash.; one stepson, James (Brenda) Tibbetts of Corona, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Delpha (Steve) Brecko of Murietta, Calif., and Sandra (Robert) Gardner of San Diego; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Warren (Anna) Liechti of Phoenix; and two sisters, Tillie (Lloyd) Belinger of Dallas and Kathleen Hill of San Diego. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernie Liechti and Lester Liechti.

Burial is private. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Arrangements are by Twin Lakes Cremation Society and Funeral Home.
