Justin Wade Young

Justin Wade Young was born September 14, 1977 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Freddie and Deborah Young. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Kendall Young and two sons, Jack and Luke Young of North Little Rock; his parents, Freddie and Deborah Young of Sherrill; his sister, Joy Sites and her husband, Jerry of Beebe and his brother, Jason Young of Sherrill. Other survivors include his mother and father-in-law, Eugene and Christy Simon of North Little Rock and two brothers-in-law, Chad Simon and Casey Simon and wife, Amy of North Little Rock; as well as nieces and nephews; Austin Sites, Jacey Greek, Will Young, Anna and Owen Simon.

Justin was a graduate of England High School and attended the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was an accomplished Mechanical Engineer at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. During his 22 year career, he had many achievements. He was a go getter and was willing to work on any project, anywhere around the world. Justin had amazing analytical and problem solving skills. He was instrumental in design and development of manufacturing facilities for production of a variety of chemical munitions used for screening, illuminating and signaling. During Desert Storm Justin worked on several large projects supporting our troops including the chemical biological protection shelter (CBPS). He traveled overseas to train soldiers on how to use them along with other chemical and biological decontaminating systems. Justin was honored by being inducted into The College of Engineering Hall of Fame at the University of Arkansas.

Justin was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Sherrill and later attended Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. He had a profound knowledge of the Bible and enjoyed discussing scripture with his father. Justin was an avid duck hunter and Razorback fan. He enjoyed attending his son's sporting events and taking them to Razorback football games. He was known for his elaborate firework shows and barbecuing. Justin's passions in life were farming and his children. He loved being in the country and spending time with his boys on the family farm. His greatest legacy is left in his children, whom he loved immensely.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Roller Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
